Subscription Plans
What subscription options are available?
Industry Economics Worldwide offers four subscription plans — Starter, Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate — each with progressively broader country coverage, historical depth, delivery methods, and licensing rights. Subscriptions are sold per country on an annual basis.
- Starter — Designed for local or startup businesses. Covers a single country with 1-year history; access is geo-restricted to the country where the subscription was purchased.
- Pro — Suited for international businesses needing multi-country access and price forecasts (Most Popular).
- Advanced — Best for business groups with automation needs. Includes Excel Add-In, Power BI, and REST API access.
- Ultimate — Tailored for consulting companies and service or software providers with integration needs. Available upon request.
How much does a subscription cost?
Industry Economics Worldwide subscriptions are priced per country on an annual basis, starting at $149 USD/year for the Starter plan.
Because subscriptions are sold per country, the total annual fee scales with the number of countries included. All plans support credit card, PayPal, and wire transfer payments. Wire transfer incurs an additional USD 199 fee and typically takes 3–5 business days to activate.
Are subscriptions monthly or annual?
All Industry Economics Worldwide subscriptions are billed annually. Monthly billing and single-access options are not available.
Three self-service plans — Starter, Pro, and Advanced — can be purchased directly through the website. The Ultimate plan is available upon request for organizations with broader data integration or third-party sharing needs.
Subscriptions paid via credit card or PayPal include auto-renewal, which locks in the subscription fee at renewal. Wire transfer subscribers must repurchase each year and may encounter fee adjustments.
Is there a plan that includes forecasts?
Forecasts are included in Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate plans. The Starter plan does not include forecasts.
Forecast data covers all three IEW data categories — industrial utilities prices and costs, plant construction cost indexes, and plant location factors — and is updated monthly alongside historical data. To access forecasts, the minimum plan is Pro at $249 USD per country per year.
Can I access data for more than one country?
The Starter plan covers a single country and restricts login access to users located in that country. Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate plans cover multiple countries — up to 33 — with no geographic access restrictions.
The distinction applies in two ways:
- Country coverage — The Starter plan is limited to one country. To access data for additional countries, a Pro or higher plan is required.
- Access geo-restriction — The Starter plan also enforces IP-based geo-blocking: users physically located outside the subscription country cannot log in. Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate subscribers can access data from anywhere in the world.
If your team spans multiple countries or you need data for more than one location, the Pro plan is the minimum tier needed to remove both restrictions.
Can I add countries after I subscribe?
Countries can be added to an existing Industry Economics Worldwide subscription at any time. You pay only the prorated difference for the remainder of the current billing period.
To add countries, the subscription owner must:
- Log in at www.intratec.us with your registered email and password.
- Click on "Subscriptions" in the left menu.
- Locate the Industry Economics Worldwide subscription and click "Upgrade Plan."
- Select the additional countries and proceed to payment.
Only the subscription owner can make changes to the subscription. Access to the new countries is available immediately after payment confirmation.
Countries cannot be switched or removed once added — only new countries can be added to an existing subscription.
Can I switch or remove a country later?
Countries cannot be switched or removed from an Industry Economics Worldwide subscription once added. Coverage changes within an active billing period are limited to additions only.
If you need different country coverage, you would need to wait until the current subscription period ends, then purchase a new subscription with the desired countries. Cancelling the current subscription stops auto-renewal but access continues until the end of the billing period.
Select countries carefully before subscribing, as you cannot replace one country with another or reduce coverage mid-term.
How do I get this data into Excel or Power BI?
The Excel Add-In and Power BI integration are available on Advanced and Ultimate plans. Both provide direct, automatically refreshed access to Industry Economics Worldwide data without manual data entry.
Excel Add-In — Access and refresh data directly in Microsoft Excel with the press of a button. Zero setup required — the add-in works with existing Excel models on Windows and Mac. Data is updated automatically upon monthly publication.
Power BI — Pre-configured, open-source .pbix project files connect directly to Intratec data. No setup required — plug into existing Power BI dashboards and customize as needed.
Both methods share a combined monthly data request allowance with the API. The Advanced plan includes a Standard automation tier (10 requests per country per month), with optional Extended (50 requests) and Premium (500 requests) add-ons available at checkout. The Ultimate plan provides 500+ requests per country per month with up to 20 API users.
Starter and Pro subscribers do not have access to Excel Add-In or Power BI. Upgrading to the Advanced plan unlocks both features.
Can I share data outside my organization?
Sharing data with third parties — including clients, partners, or external organizations — requires an Ultimate plan. All standard plans restrict data use to within the subscriber's own organization or business group.
With an Ultimate plan, you can share data with external parties and integrate it into your own products or services. Reselling raw Intratec data is not permitted under any plan, including Ultimate.
The Ultimate plan is available upon request. A preliminary quote tailored to your needs can be generated in under 3 minutes on the Ultimate plan page.
How many users can access my subscription?
The number of users included in each plan is as follows:
Users are added by the subscription owner or admin at no additional cost, provided they share the same business email domain. Free email addresses (such as Gmail or Yahoo) are not permitted, and concurrent access using the same login is prohibited.
The Starter plan additionally restricts access by geography — users must be physically located in the country where the subscription was purchased. Pro, Advanced, and Ultimate plans have no geographic access restriction.
API and Automation Access
How do I integrate this data into my own systems?
The REST Web API enables direct, programmatic access to Industry Economics Worldwide data. It is available on Advanced and Ultimate plans and is compatible with workflow automation tools, ERP systems, and proprietary applications.
Advanced plan — 1 API user with request limits ranging from 10 to 500 per country per month, depending on the automation tier selected at checkout. The Standard tier (10 requests/country/month) is included by default; Extended (50) and Premium (500) tiers are available as optional add-ons.
Ultimate plan — Up to 20 API users with 500+ requests per country per month, designed for enterprise-scale integration and teams embedding data into products or client-facing systems.
The API is compatible with Microsoft Logic Apps, N8N, Zapier, and other automation platforms. It provides access to current data and full historical archives.
Data requests are counted collectively across the API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI — all three automation methods share the same monthly allowance. The Automation Needs Assistant, available during the subscription process, can help estimate the right tier for your use case.
