Who Can Buy
Can individuals purchase Intratec products?
Intratec operates as a B2B business. Our products cannot be purchased by individuals — only by people acting on behalf of a company or organization. This requirement is established in our Terms & Conditions and is reflected in the account creation process: a business email address is required to register, and free personal email domains are not accepted.
If you are an independent professional — such as a freelancer or consultant — you are eligible to purchase as long as you are operating as a business entity and have a business email address.
Do I need a business email to buy?
A business email address is required to create an Intratec account, and an account is required to purchase any product. Free personal email domains — such as gmail.com, yahoo.com, outlook.com, icloud.com, and aol.com — are not accepted during registration.
This applies to all account holders, including additional users added to a subscription by the subscription owner. Co-users must also have a business email address from the same domain as the account that holds the subscription.
Can a freelancer or consultant buy?
Yes. Freelancers and consultants are eligible to purchase Intratec products. "Information Providers & Consulting Firms" is one of the company segments Intratec explicitly serves, which includes independent consultants and boutique firms that use commodity data in their work.
To purchase, you need a business email address associated with your professional activity — personal email domains are not accepted. If you operate under a registered business entity, you can create an account and buy through the self-service checkout at www.intratec.us.
Can I purchase on behalf of my company?
Yes. Purchasing on behalf of your company is the standard use case on Intratec. Anyone with a business email can create an account at www.intratec.us/register and complete a purchase through the self-service checkout.
The account holder becomes the subscription owner or report purchaser and manages billing, access, and user settings through the user area on the Intratec website. Additional users from the same company (same email domain) can be added to a subscription at no extra cost.
Can a company buy for another company's use?
In most cases, a purchase grants usage rights only to the purchasing company. However, usage rights transfers are available under specific conditions:
- Only purchasers of Advanced subscriptions or Premium edition reports can request a transfer.
- The request must be submitted through the contact form within 1 week after purchase.
- Intratec evaluates the request and notifies the purchaser of the decision.
- If approved, the beneficiary company accepts the transfer and gains product access. The original purchaser retains billing responsibility but loses usage rights.
Purchases on Starter or Pro plans, and Compact or Detailed report editions, do not support usage rights transfers to a different company.
Can universities or research institutions buy?
Yes. Universities and research institutions are eligible to purchase Intratec products. "Government, NGOs & Academia" is one of the company segments Intratec serves, covering public-sector organizations, nonprofits, and academic institutions that use the data for research, policy analysis, and economic studies.
The same purchasing requirements apply: a business or institutional email address is required to create an account, and products are purchased through the self-service checkout at www.intratec.us.
What payment methods are accepted?
Intratec accepts the following payment methods:
- Credit cards — Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Cards must be enabled for online and international transactions before use.
- PayPal — Available for all products.
- Wire transfer — Available for all products. An additional fee of USD 199 applies, and payments typically take 3–5 business days to be identified and confirmed.
All payments are processed by FastSpring, Intratec's e-commerce partner. Credit card and PayPal payments result in immediate subscription activation. Wire transfer payments activate the subscription only after the transfer is identified, which may take several business days.
