Plans and Billing Cycles

The subscription plans available at Intratec, billing cycle options, and when access is activated.

Plan Options

Is there a monthly subscription option?

All subscriptions to Intratec products are charged on an annual basis. We do not offer monthly billing or single-access options for any of our databases.

If you need access for a shorter period, an annual subscription remains the only available format — designed to give your team a full year of data updates, tools, and support without interruption.

What subscription plans does Intratec offer?

All subscription-based products are available in three standard plans — Starter, Pro, and Advanced — each charged annually. An Ultimate plan is also available on request for teams with data integration or redistribution needs.

Each plan unlocks a progressively larger set of features, historical data depth, users, and access rights. The right plan depends on your team size, the coverage you need, and how you intend to use the data.

Here is how the plans differ across our main subscription products:

What determines how much my subscription costs?

The subscription fee depends on two factors: the plan you select and the number of predefined data coverage sets included in your subscription.

The plan sets the feature tier — what you get in terms of history depth, users, access rights, and tools like the API or Excel Add-In.

The coverage determines the data scope — and how it is measured varies by product:

  • Primary Commodity Prices: coverage is sold by industry. Each industry covers a set of commodities across associated countries. You subscribe to one or more industries, and the fee scales accordingly.
  • Energy Prices & Markets and Industry Economics Worldwide: coverage is sold by country. The more countries you include, the higher the fee.

The coverage sets are predefined and cannot be customized — you choose from the available options during checkout.

Can I subscribe to just one commodity or country?

For Primary Commodity Prices, subscriptions are not sold by individual commodity — the minimum unit of coverage is an industry. Each industry covers a defined set of commodities, and you subscribe to one or more complete industries.

For Energy Prices & Markets and Industry Economics Worldwide, subscriptions are sold by country, so you can subscribe to a single country if that is all you need.

In all cases, there are no subscriptions to a single commodity within an industry, and no custom coverage sets — you choose from the predefined options available at checkout.

Activation & Access

When do I get access after purchasing a subscription?

Subscriptions are activated as soon as your payment is identified. How quickly that happens depends on your payment method:

  • Credit card or PayPal: payment is identified promptly, so access is granted immediately after completing checkout.
  • Wire transfer: bank payments typically take 3 to 5 business days to be identified. Access is not granted until the payment is confirmed on our end.

Billing & Renewal

Does my subscription renew automatically each year?

Auto-renewal depends on your payment method. Subscriptions paid by credit card or PayPal renew automatically each year — no action is needed to maintain uninterrupted access. Subscriptions paid by wire transfer do not auto-renew; you will need to purchase a new subscription each year when your current term ends.

If you want auto-renewal, paying by credit card or PayPal is the simplest path.

What happens to my price when my subscription renews?

The price you pay at renewal depends on your payment method.

If you subscribed using a credit card or PayPal, your subscription fee stays the same at renewal — it is not adjusted while your subscription remains active and on auto-renew.

If you subscribed via wire transfer, you are not on auto-renew. When you repurchase for a new year, the fee at that time applies — which may be higher if prices have been adjusted since your original purchase.

To lock in your current rate year over year, keeping your subscription active with auto-renewal via credit card or PayPal is the recommended approach.

Does the payment method affect when I get access?

Yes — your payment method has a direct impact on when your subscription is activated.

Payment Method Activation
Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex) Immediate — payment is identified at checkout
PayPal Immediate — payment is identified at checkout
Wire Transfer 3–5 business days after the bank transfer is received

Credit card payments also carry other advantages: no additional processing fee (wire transfer adds USD 199), automatic renewal at the same rate, and no need to repurchase each year.

How do I see what I've been charged for a subscription?

All invoices and receipts for your purchases are available in your account. To access them:

  1. Log in at www.intratec.us with your email and password.
  2. Click on "Invoices" in the left menu.
  3. Locate the invoice you need and click to download it.

Invoices are available immediately after purchase and can be downloaded at any time.

Upgrading

Can I upgrade to a higher plan mid-subscription?

Yes — you can upgrade your plan at any point while your subscription is active. The upgrade takes effect immediately upon payment.

When you upgrade, you pay only the difference between the new plan's annual fee and the prorated value of what you have already paid for the remaining time in your current cycle. Your new subscription term then runs for a full year from the upgrade date.

To upgrade:

  1. Log in at www.intratec.us with your email and password.
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" in the left menu.
  3. Locate the subscription, click "Upgrade Plan", and proceed.
