Historical Data by Plan
How many years of history does each plan include?
Historical data depth in Energy Prices & Markets depends on your subscription plan:
All plans include current prices for all 12 energy commodities. Historical data is accessible through Online Charts on all plans. Advanced and Ultimate subscribers can also retrieve historical data through the Excel Add-In, Power BI, and the REST Web API.
Does the Starter plan include historical price data?
The Starter plan includes 1 year of historical price data at monthly granularity. Every Starter subscription covers current prices plus the 12 prior months for all energy commodities in the subscribed country.
To access longer histories — 3 years on Pro, 10 years on Advanced, or up to 15 years on Ultimate — a higher-tier plan is required.
How far back does the price history go on the top tier?
The Ultimate plan provides up to 15 years of price history at monthly granularity, accessible through the REST Web API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI. This is the maximum historical depth available for Energy Prices & Markets.
For context, the other plans offer: Starter (1 year, monthly), Pro (3 years, quarterly), and Advanced (10 years, annual in reports or monthly via API). The Ultimate plan's 15-year monthly series makes it the right choice for long-term trend modeling and multi-cycle benchmarking.
Is historical data monthly or annual on every plan?
Granularity is not uniform across plans — it varies by tier and delivery method.
Historical data granularity by plan:
- Starter — Monthly granularity (1-year history)
- Pro — Quarterly granularity (3-year history); also includes the Starter 1-year monthly series
- Advanced — Annual granularity in PDF reports and Online Charts (10-year history); monthly granularity available via REST Web API for the same 10-year window
- Ultimate — Monthly granularity via REST Web API (up to 15-year history)
Advanced subscribers who need monthly granularity for the full 10-year history must access it through the API, Excel Add-In, or Power BI — not through the PDF report, which presents annual data.
Is long-term price history available for trend modeling?
Multi-year price history is available on Advanced and Ultimate plans, giving strategy and planning teams the depth needed for trend analysis, forecasting models, and cycle benchmarking.
- Advanced — 10 years of annual price history in reports; 10-year monthly series accessible via the REST Web API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI
- Ultimate — Up to 15 years of monthly price history via API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI, plus all Advanced features
Both plans support automated data delivery directly into Excel models, Power BI dashboards, and ERP or proprietary systems through the REST API — so historical data can feed existing workflows without manual exports.
Where can I see the full price history in my reports?
Full price history is accessible through several channels depending on your plan:
- Online Charts (all plans) — Interactive charts display historical prices for each commodity and country. You can toggle between monthly, quarterly, and annual views, and hover over data points to see exact values. Chart images can be downloaded as JPG or PNG.
- PDF Reports (all plans) — Each monthly report includes historical price tables for the commodities covered. History depth in the PDF corresponds to your plan (1 year on Starter, 3 years on Pro, 10 years on Advanced/Ultimate).
- Excel Add-In (Advanced and Ultimate) — Pulls the full historical series covered by your plan directly into Excel with a single click.
- Power BI (Advanced and Ultimate) — Pre-configured dashboards display the full historical data available under your plan.
- REST Web API (Advanced and Ultimate) — Programmatic access to current data and the full historical archive within your plan's depth.
To access your reports, log in at intratec.us, go to My Products, select Energy Prices & Markets, choose your country, and click View or Download PDF.
Can I get price data going back more than 10 years?
Yes — the Ultimate plan provides up to 15 years of monthly price history, accessible through the REST Web API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI.
The Advanced plan caps at 10 years. If your use case requires data going back beyond that — for long-range trend modeling, regulatory benchmarking, or multi-decade analysis — the Ultimate plan is the appropriate tier.
API & Long-Term History
Can I access historical data through the API?
The REST Web API provides access to both current prices and full historical archives within the depth covered by your plan. API access is available on Advanced and Ultimate plans.
Historical data is returned through standard API endpoints — there is no separate historical endpoint. A single request can retrieve up to 40 series simultaneously, and currency and unit selection are supported for energy price assessments.
Advanced plan subscribers receive 1 API user and 10 to 500 requests per country per month. Ultimate plan subscribers receive up to 20 API users and 500+ requests per country per month. Request limits are shared across the API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI.
What granularity does the 10-year history come in?
The 10-year price history available on the Advanced plan is delivered at two different granularities depending on the access method:
- Annual granularity — available in PDF reports and Online Charts
- Monthly granularity — available via the REST Web API, Excel Add-In, and Power BI
Advanced plan subscribers who need monthly-resolution data for the full 10-year window must use the API, Excel Add-In, or Power BI. The PDF report and Online Charts present the same 10-year window in annual intervals.
